UK Sports For all are passionate about organising sustainable running events. We aim to make our events smaller family friendly events with no more than 200 participants.

Creating Sustainable Events

Our aim is to offer high quality events while at the same time caring for the environment and trying to reduce our carbon footprint as best as possible. We aim to improve on every event and will continue to do so until we can be as close to carbon neutral as possible.

How do we do this

  • Our starting point is by trying to reduce the use of single use plastics. We encourage our participants and volunteers to bring their own refillable bottle and we provide the water
  • Eco friendly medals – Working with our medal producers, we present all our finishers with a uniquely designed eco friendly medal.
  • For every order we place, our medal producers will plant a tree
  • By sourcing all our products from the UK and as locally as possible, we are doing our little bit towards reducing our carbon footprint.
  • Encouraging our participants to either car share, use public transport or cycle to our events

Supporting other UK Businesses

As a UK business we are proud to source all our equipment and medals from other UK businesses. We aim to shop as local as possible and use as many local suppliers as we can. This includes our race numbers, medals, podiums, flags, signs and catering vans.

North Wales and Shropshire Running Events

The vast majority of UK Sports For All running events take place in public parks and enclosed locations throughout North Wales and Shropshire.  Some of our favourite locations include Alyn Waters Country Park in Gwersyllt, Alyn Waters Country Park in Llay and Comer Woods in Bridgnorth (Part of Dudmaston Estate). However, we are always on the lookout for new locations, watch this space….

So that we don’t clash with Park Run, we aim to run our events on Sunday mornings. Usually starting at 9am and aim to be finished by 12pm.

Courses

Trying to organise a running event in a relatively small space isn’t always easy, however, our courses consist of a 5k out and back loop meaning that we can organise multi distance events in a wide variety of locations without the need to close any roads.

Half Marathon – 1 x 1.1km out and back loop followed by 4 x 5k outback loops
15k – 3 x out and back loops
10k – 2 x out and back loops
5k – 1 x out and back loops
3k – 1 x 3k out and back loop

Benefits of out and back loops

  • You will always see other runners around you
  • Very low chance of taking a wrong turn
  • Aid station every 5k
  • Traffic free courses
  • No need to close roads

Free Places!

We would not be able to organise any of these events without a core of amazing volunteers. To say thank you, we offer a FREE race for them at our next event, or they can nominate a friend or relative to take part on the event on the day itself. Please email mike@uksfa.co.uk to register as a volunteer and reserve your free place!

First Aid

The safety of our participants, volunteers and marshals is our top priority. Every event we organised has a minimum of two first aiders present during the entirety of the race, there is a privacy gazebo where participants can be treated if need be. This is usually located close to the start finish line.
